1 day training delivered by industry experts on building insulation for building services in sustainable construction. Topics included in the day include:
a) Electrical and potable water regulations for building services - statutory and non-statutory requirements when insulating building services, manufacturers’ guidelines for insulation services, wiring regulations applicable to insulation, water authority regulations applicable to insulation.
b) Thermal insulation for building services - advantages, disadvantages and limitations of installation techniques applicable to hot water and cold water services, selection criteria used for insulation products for hot water and cold water services, service materials appropriate to insulation requirements, installation procedures for insulation materials for internal and external services.
c) Contribute to a site survey - carry out a building insulation needs analysis and justify superstructure insulation recommendations.
d) Health and safety legislation when building fabric - health and safety legislation relevant to building insulation, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for installing insulation materials, requirements for positioning and installing temporary lighting, procedures for installing temporary walk platforms.
