Building insulation for building fabric super-structures in sustainable construction
1 day training delivered by industry experts on building insulation for building fabric super-structuresin sustainable construction. Topics included in the day include:
a) building regulations impact the insulation of super-structures - statutory and non-statutory requirements when insulating a super-structure, calculate thermal resistance of building fabric, evaluate data in line with building regulations, interpret manufacturers’ guidance to improve thermal efficiency.
b) Thermal insulation for roofing structures – advantages, disadvantages and limitations of installation techniques for roofing structures, selection criteria used for insulation products for warm and cold roof applications.
c) Thermal insulation for walls - advantages, disadvantages and limitations of installation techniques for wall structures, selection criteria used for insulation products for internal and external applications, installation procedures for insulation materials for internal and external applications.
d) Contribute to a site survey - carry out a building insulation needs analysis and justify superstructure insulation recommendations.
e) Health and safety legislation when building fabric - health and safety legislation relevant to building insulation, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for installing insulation materials, requirements for positioning and installing temporary lighting, procedures for installing temporary walk platforms.
At the end of the session all participants will be given access to our online resource centre with additional resources and links to continue developing your knowledge of this sustainable construction topic
