1 day training delivered by industry experts on airtight technologies in sustainable construction. Topics included in the day include:
a) The impact of air tightness on energy performance and costs of a building - evaluate the impact of airtightness on the energy performance of a building, estimate the costs associated with achieving an air tight building, the contribution a building designer has on the construction of an airtight building.
b) The materials/methods of construction that provide the best air tightness conditions - airtightness issues associated with a given construction method, appropriate products and materials to be used for a particular building, installation methods for the materials to be used, the impact quality workmanship has on an airtight building.
c) Integrate sufficient ventilation into a buildings energy management system - appropriate ventilation system for the build, schedule of works for the installation of the ventilation system, performance of the ventilation design in relation to both air quality and the building's overall energy performance.
d) Test and measure a building's airtightness – the process of conducting a door blower test, the results of a door blower test.
